The daily maintenance work of the Carter 320 excavator !

The daily maintenance work of the Carter 320 excavator is of great significance for extending the service life of the equipment, improving work efficiency, and reducing maintenance costs. Only with careful care can this' steel giant 'always maintain its best condition and efficiently complete various engineering tasks.

(1) Daily inspection points

Before starting the Caterpillar 320 excavator every day, a comprehensive and meticulous inspection is an essential and important step. Firstly, check the oil level. Oil is like the blood of the human body and is crucial for the normal operation of the engine. Pull out the oil dipstick, wipe it clean, then reinsert and pull it out again, and observe if the oil level is between the upper and lower limits of the dipstick. If the oil level is too low, it can cause poor lubrication of various engine components, exacerbate wear, and even lead to serious malfunctions; If the oil level is too high, it may cause excessive internal pressure in the engine, affecting performance.

The inspection of coolant level cannot be ignored. The Excavators coolant is responsible for absorbing the heat generated by the engine, ensuring that the engine operates within the appropriate temperature range. Check the level markings on the coolant expansion tank. The normal level should be between the highest and lowest markings. Insufficient coolant can cause the engine to overheat and damage engine components, such as cylinder gasket damage, cylinder block deformation, etc. Check the quality of the coolant, observe its color and transparency. If the coolant is cloudy, discolored, or has an odor, it indicates that it has deteriorated and needs to be replaced in a timely manner.

The Crawler excavators inspection of the fuel supply system is equally crucial. Check the fuel level in the fuel tank to ensure sufficient fuel and avoid the excavator stalling midway due to insufficient fuel, which may affect the work progress. Check for any signs of leakage, rupture, or aging in the fuel pipeline, and repair or replace it promptly if there are any issues. Observe whether there is any blockage in the fuel filter. If there are a large number of impurities on the surface of the filter, it will affect the filtering effect of the fuel, causing the fuel injector to become clogged, resulting in insufficient combustion of the engine, decreased power, and even inability to start.

At the same time, Mini digger is necessary to confirm whether the battery is fully charged. The battery of the Carter 320 excavator provides power for starting the engine, lighting, and various electrical equipment. Use a multimeter to measure the battery voltage. Generally, the normal voltage should be around 24V (the Caterpillar 320 excavator usually uses a 24V power supply system). If the voltage is too low, it may cause difficulty in starting the engine, or even prevent it from starting. Check if the battery electrode terminals are loose or corroded. If there is any corrosive material, it will affect the conductivity of the battery. It needs to be cleaned with a wire brush and protected with butter.

In addition, mini excavator is necessary to carefully check whether the connections of each pipeline are firm, including hydraulic pipelines, cooling water pipelines, fuel pipelines, etc. Any looseness in the pipeline may lead to oil or water leakage, affecting the normal operation of the equipment. For hydraulic pipelines, slight leaks may reduce the efficiency of the hydraulic system, and in severe cases, it may cause the hydraulic system to malfunction; Leakage of the cooling water pipeline can cause the loss of coolant, leading to engine overheating; Fuel pipeline leakage not only wastes fuel, but also poses safety hazards and may cause fires.

(2) Regular maintenance plan of compact excavators

The regular maintenance of the Carter 320 excavator is strictly carried out according to the time or working hours, which is the key to ensuring stable equipment performance and extending the service life.

Every 500 hours of work, it is necessary to replace the engine oil and oil filter element. The engine oil will gradually deteriorate and lose its lubrication performance during engine operation, and the oil filter element will also become clogged due to filtering impurities. Before changing the engine oil, use a specialized tool to extract an oil sample and send it to a professional laboratory for testing. Analyze the content of metal particles, moisture, impurities, etc. in the engine oil to understand the wear and operation status of the engine. Drain the old engine oil, choose engine oil that meets Caterpillar standards for replacement, and replace the oil filter with a new one to ensure the cleanliness and lubrication effect of the engine oil.

Cleaning and replacing the air filter is also crucial. The air filter is responsible for filtering the air entering the engine, preventing dust, impurities, etc. from entering the cylinder and exacerbating engine wear. Every 500 hours of work, compressed air should be used to blow away the dust on the surface of the air filter element from the inside out; When the air filter has been in use for a certain period of time, or after multiple cleaning cycles, the filtering effect decreases, it needs to be replaced in a timely manner. In general, the replacement cycle of air filters is 1000-2000 hours, which depends on the dust concentration in the working environment. In working environments such as mines and sand fields with high levels of dust, the frequency of replacing air filters should be appropriately increased.

The fuel system also needs to be cleaned regularly, usually every 1000 hours. After long-term use, impurities, gum, and carbon deposits will accumulate in the fuel system, affecting the injection and combustion efficiency of the fuel. Using professional fuel system cleaning agents and following operating procedures for cleaning can effectively remove these deposits and restore the normal working performance of the fuel system. At the same time, replace the diesel filter every 500 hours to ensure the cleanliness of the fuel.

In addition to the above maintenance items, the turbocharger, oil radiator, crankcase breather, and other components need to be cleaned and inspected every 2000 hours. Turbochargers work in high temperature and high pressure environments, which can easily lead to problems such as carbon deposition and wear. Regular cleaning and inspection can ensure their normal operation and improve the engine's power performance; The engine oil radiator is responsible for dissipating the heat of the engine oil. If the heat sink is blocked, it will cause the engine oil temperature to be too high, affecting the lubrication effect; The crankcase respirator is used to discharge exhaust gas and water vapor from the crankcase. If it is blocked, it will increase the pressure inside the crankcase, causing oil leakage.

Check the starting motor, generator and other components every 2000 hours to ensure their normal performance. The starter motor is responsible for starting the engine. If there is a malfunction, the engine will not be able to start; The generator provides power to the electrical system of the equipment. If the power generation is abnormal, it will affect the normal operation of the equipment. The water pump should be checked every 4000 hours to check whether the impeller of the water pump is worn or leaking, whether the belt is loose, and ensure the normal circulation of the cooling system.

The replacement cycle for hydraulic oil and hydraulic oil filter element is 3000 hours or 18 months, and 1000 hours respectively. Hydraulic oil is the working medium of hydraulic systems, and after prolonged use, it will oxidize, deteriorate, and lose its original performance. When replacing hydraulic oil, all old oil in the system should be drained and the oil tank and pipelines should be cleaned. Hydraulic oil filter element is used to filter impurities in hydraulic oil. Regular replacement can ensure the cleanliness of the hydraulic system and prevent impurities from entering hydraulic components, causing wear and damage. In some harsh working conditions and frequent use, the replacement cycle of hydraulic oil and filter element can be shortened according to the actual situation. At the same time, the maintenance interval for hydraulic oil can be extended to 6000 working hours or 3 years, but during the extension period, it is best to perform Caterpillar SOS testing on the hydraulic oil every 500 hours to determine the performance of the hydraulic oil and the operating condition of the equipment, ensuring the safe operation of the equipment.

Lubricating grease should be injected into the shaft pin of the excavator every day to reduce wear between the shaft pin and the lining, ensuring the flexible operation of each component. Check the tightening of fasteners and bolts every 1000 hours to prevent loosening due to vibration, which may affect the structural stability of the equipment. The air conditioning filter should be replaced as needed. When working in environments with high dust or poor air quality, the replacement cycle should be appropriately shortened to provide a clean and comfortable driving environment for the driver. The oil in the rotary mechanism box should be replaced every 1000 hours, and the oil in the final drive box should be replaced every 2000 hours to ensure good lubrication and normal operation of these components. Check the electrolyte level of the battery every 250 hours. If the level is too low, add distilled water or specialized battery replenishment solution to maintain the normal performance of the battery.
